Li Auto took a significant step in its global expansion strategy by formally entering the Macau market on Friday. The company partnered with Guangdong Hongyue Automobile Sales Group, which also serves as the exclusive distributor for Nio in the city, to establish its first retail center. This expansion marks Li Auto's first venture into the Hong Kong and Macau region and positions the company to strengthen its brand presence across the Asia-Pacific market.

Customized Solutions for Local Requirements

To comply with Macau's glass light transmittance regulations, Li Auto collaborated with automotive glass supplier Fuyao Glass to develop a double-layer laminated non-privacy glass solution. The innovation maintains the vehicle's performance in noise insulation, safety, and heat resistance while meeting all local standards.

Cross-Border Connectivity Features

The company has significantly enhanced its offerings for Hong Kong and Macau users who frequently travel to the mainland. Li Auto now provides seamless navigation between these regions and flexible communication solutions, including support for dual-SIM connectivity. The localized smart system includes applications like Apple CarPlay and Spotify, with ongoing development of cross-border connected-car services in collaboration with industry partners.

Measured International Expansion Strategy

Li Auto has adopted a deliberate and cautious approach to overseas markets, prioritizing the development of complete service and operational infrastructure over short-term sales targets. The company plans to enter multiple countries including Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, while simultaneously launching in Europe and right-hand-drive markets such as Singapore. The company will begin rolling out its L series models in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, with the Li i6 planned for European launch in the second half of the year.
